The Last Guardian is Still in Development WTF!?!?!

One of most awaited PlayStation 3 game, The Last Guardian, is still in development but making slow progress, according to Sony Worldwide Studio Boss Shuhei Yoshida. “The project has been making progress, but slow progress,” he admitted. According to Yoshida, the project, which has been in the works for over five years, is still one of Sony’s top priorities.

“We haven’t changed any focus. It’s still a really important project and a vision we want to see realized, and Fumito’s vision is really causing a very difficult challenge for the developers,” he said.  “So there’s some scrapping and rebuilding – iteration in the process. That’s why [it’s taking so long].”

As for Ueda, the visionary behind The Last Gurdian who many thought left the the project, Yoshida said he’s still working for Sony on a contract basis and had a bit more to add on the situation. “You know, we discussed an arrangement so he could focus on the creative side. But his work and his presence on that team never changed, so it was just more a contractual rearrangement, and that was taken [by many] as ‘he left’,” he said. “He comes in every day, and he’s probably one of the people who works the longest hours,” he added.

All this boils down to the fact that production on The Last Guardian is still going strong, and we can hope to see the final product in the future, hopefully before the world ends.

  1. Great post! It always amaze me how people can take time to write them. But to be honest maybe you should change the color of the texts? Sorry if I am being rude, just trying to help. Kind regards, Sophia
